Calling for an Appointment or Prescription Refill
Calling for an appointment:
We see patients by appointment only (patients with true emergencies are fit in by our staff at any time). Even with an emergency, calling ahead for an appointment will help keep your time in the office at a minimum. To make an appointment, simply call during office hours (either regular or Ped•I•Care) and tell the receptionist you want to make an appointment (you do not need special permission to do so). You can help her in scheduling you by telling her which is most important: time of the appointment, office to be seen in, or practitioner to see.
Calling for a prescription refill:
We refill prescriptions during regular routine office hours (8:30 to 5:00 Monday - Friday). Please plan ahead so that you don’t run out of important medications. Remember, it may take two full business days to process some requests – we need to carefully review your child’s chart to check on dosages and the need for a revisit – particularly controlled medicines which cannot be phoned in because they need written prescriptions (by law).
Always have the name of your pharmacy, and the prescription number if possible, available before you call the office. If you have an unusual need for an off-hours or immediate prescription refill, we will attempt to honor your request. There is a fee associated with this special, premium convenience service (not generally covered by insurance).
