False Claims About Autism and Vaccines
9.24.2025
Over the last several months there has been a lot of chatter from the Federal Government regarding autism and vaccines. Earlier this week, the government made scientific claims that are unsubstantiated, misleading and reckless that will spread unnecessary fear and worry among families, while further eroding the trust in our public health experts and institutions. This will only increase the risk of vaccine preventable illnesses that have caused significant disease and death to children, and the entire public at large.
Vaccines are safe and effective. Tylenol, when used appropriately, is safe and effective even during pregnancy. Decades of research have demonstrated that neither vaccines nor Tylenol are a cause of autism.
Wildwood Pediatrics, along with the American Academy of Pediatrics, will continue to follow only sound, evidence based medicine. The State of Connecticut will continue to enforce the current vaccine schedule that ensures the health of all children. Wildwood Pediatrics will continue to follow our well established vaccine policy (see under the "For Parents" tab) requiring all of the childhood vaccines in the standard, timely manner.
