Travel Consultants

  • Kenneth Burke, M.D.

  • Linda Dore, R.N.

Traveling out of the country? A call to the office to set up a visit with one of our specially trained nurses (who work under the supervision of Dr. Burke) for a “travel consultation” is in order.

Wildwood Pediatrics has had a long history in providing care for our patients travelling, and offering comprehensive advice not only about needed vaccines but also other health and safety issues for travelers. Prior to your visit, Linda Dore, R.N. will obtain the latest information from the Center for Disease Control about required and/or recommended vaccines for the country(ies) to be visited. In addition to administering any necessary vaccines, she can help you identify and obtain any needed medications. Guidelines for preventing motion sickness, “traveler’s diarrhea,” etc., are also discussed.

Please call the office to set up a travel consultation.

Note: the sooner you call with your itinerary, the more help we can be. Some vaccines need several doses to be effective; others may not provide full coverage until several weeks have passed. Also note that not all HMO or insurance plans cover this service.
