RSV Vaccines for Infants

10.20.2026

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) season is coming soon and we would like to make sure that your infant has access to the RSV vaccination.  In reality, this injection is not a true vaccine but it contains 'already made' antibodies specifically against RSV.  It does not stimulate the immune system to make their own antibodies.

It is available for all infants up to 8 months of age.  For certain older infants, who have a higher risk of complications from RSV, we may recommend the injection if 8 months or older, or even if your child has recieved it before.

Starting on October 1, 2026 the injection will be avaiable in the hospital setting after birth, and in our office for those who did not get the injection in the hospital.

We strongly recomment all eligible infants receive this very effective injection.

Please see the link below for an excellent overview of RSV injection from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Also, please click the link below for a video from Yale New Haven Children's Hospital discussing the improtance of this injection.

We will be having RSV Vaccine Clinics throughout the Fall.  Please call our office to make an appointment.
