Hospitals
If hospitalization is necessary, we use The Children’s Hospital at Yale New Haven primarily. Not only did Drs. Condulis and McStay, as well as our nurse practitioners Christina Rickenback, Allison Cappitella and Taylor Sansevero do their formal pediatric training there, but all of the physicians have both faculty teaching appointments and admitting privileges at Yale. We frequently have Yale's nurse practitioner students and pediatric residents rotate through our office to gain valuable clinical experience. Nurse practioner Taylor Sansevero teaches select classes at Yale's School of Nursing.
In addition to The Children's Hospital at Yale New Haven, we also refer many of our patients to specialists at Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC), or for hospitlization if a family prefers CCMC. Both hospitals offer expert pediatric care.
If your child is admitted to the hospital, their care will be under the direct supervision of a pediatric hospitalist. A hospitalist is a pediatrician specialized in the care of hospitalized children, and are present for direct, and on-going supervison, and management throughout a child's hospital care. Direct communication of a child's hospital stay is given to our office upon discharge to facilitate proper follow-up and care.
